a) i)
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS. It integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information.
ii)
GPS systems. They use information that is collected from street maps and traffic systems to determine possible routes to a selected destination. These determined routes can help the user select a specific route based on a pre-determined criteria set by the user.

EXPERT SYSTEM. A computerised advisory program that attempts to imitate the reasoning of experts.
(Two things that help the development of an expert system.)
+ Knowledge Base (Human experts): They are needed to input their knowledge, which will be used for the purpose of aiding people in making informed decisions.
+ Knowledge engineer: Codes the knowledge of human experts in the rules and data of the knowledge base.

NEURAL NETWORK. A computer architecture in which processors are connected in a manner suggestive of connections between neurons.

DATA MINING. It is the process of shifting through and analysing enormous quantities of data to discover hidden patterns.
EXAMPLE. Large retail stores use it to search raw data from all their point of sales terminals in their various stores locations.
HOW IT RELATES TO DSS. They use it to discover patterns and changes in customer purchases, product references, and spending habits.

KNOWLEDGE ENGINEER. Codes the knowledge of human experts in the rules and data of the knowledge base.
EXPERT SYSTEMS. They do not replace human experts, but make their knowledge and experience more available. Thus, increasing productivity of the human expert, and organisation
