Macros ..
Okay well today we started the long process that is Macros...I mean seriously I curse the people who created these things. I'm quite happy that we can 'record' Macros so we don't have to remember them, or else all hope of me creating this assignment goes out the window.
That's all!

Assignment
Okay so I've begun creating my markbook and so far it's going pretty smoothly. I have entered nineteen different students with their marks/percentages they've recieved in four different 'assessment tasks'. I have also created the option to filtering the coloums, therefore allowing the option to sort the inputted information. And of course I have started decorating it, I am also trying to make the grades show whether or not the student passes of fails the assessment.

Requirement Report
This post will be dedicated to making/writing my requirement report. But first I thought it would be smart to put what exactly a requirement report is :).
Requirement Report:
A document that is produced in the early stages of a project that seeks to clarify the purpose of the system. Purpose is usually detailed in terms of what is needed by the participants/users of the system. Provides documentry evidence of the scope of the project. I.E. how extensive the system will be, what it would need for the system to be completed .
The reason behind the creation of this markbook is to provide an easy to use, accessible, mark/score record for teachers to use in order to be better organised and not have to go through the hassle of writing down the records. They could also be used to perhaps to work out rankings - although this may not be in the actual project (depends on whether or not I can work out the formula for it, or find it via the internet or friends).
What is needed is: to create a easier, manageable mark storage system to help teachers/professors in organising student marks. This system will allow more freedom on the transmittion and storing of the marks, however it must be noted that with the system comes some disadvantages, which teachers must be willing to work around or be ready to face. Such negatives include file corruption, and possibility to lose data - which is easy to solve in storing the file on more than one place (USB's, CD's etc etc).
The system is not supposed to be that large, just large enough that it can be used by teachers in various fields of work (History, Maths, English, etc etc). And as stated before the goals are to create a system that would store and organise student scores for teachers.
End.
---
Is it just me or did that seem like that was just a whole lot of me repeating myself by using similar or different wording? Oh well at least my requirement report is complete...at least I think it is.
Oh and I thought it would be fun to start putting in emotionicons on how I feel at the moment.

Markbook Assignment 2
Yes well I think it's time for me to research what markbooks actually are, umm..yeah I'm pretty sure I know what it is. Markbooks are the storing of scores/marks of students from tests/exams and assessments.
From a website a markbook is decribed as "
combines ease-of-use for teachers with a powerful database system, separating out the functions of teachers and of administrators, and drawing a distinction between assessment and reporting.MarkBook replaces manual or ad hoc systems of keeping track of results and producing students' reports"
Advantages of using a markbooks include:
- Is flexible and responsive
- Easy and manageable
- Accurate and fast
- Easier to duplicate
- Distribution is also simpler
Disadvantages include:
- Possibilty of losing data
- Chance for data corruption
It is often advisable to create more than one copy of a file, to ensure that total loss does not have a chance to occur. It is also advised to save a copy to a usb or CD-ROM, keeping it away in a secure location.

Markbook Assignment :)
Yes well, we got a new assignment and we have to create our own information system. It is an individual task and we can use either access or excel, I think I will be using access because I think it would be easier - SHOCK! - and um...because we can decorate it :). Requires us to create a problem and solve it.
