Hardware is the physical technology that allows indivuals to access multimedia.

Examples of hardware include:

• Tower/Portable hard drives/CD's/DVD/Blu Ray/USB's (for the storage of
  multimedia as well as multimedia systems)

  Screen - Monitor (to display the multimedia - video, images, text)

  Speakers (allow one type of multimedia to be displayed - i.e.
  audio)

  Mouse (to allow for access to multimedia)

Monitor: There are vari0us types of monitors, depending on the size an individual wishes to have, there is also various types of 'refresh rates' (meaning resolutions available for the screens). There are also differing performance measurements for each screen, as conveyed through wikipedia. Also available are different types of screens: CRT, LCD, Plasma, all of which have their own pro's and con's.

Tower: Also known as the 'computer case' or 'system unit' and it contains the main components of a computer. Major components of the tower include:

• Motherboard
• Form factors
• Power supply unit
• Drive bays (used for CDs, DVDs, USBs, card readers)
• Buttons + LEDs
• Vents

Speakers: Allow for the displaying of one type of multimedia, which is audio, meaning that sounds can be heard due to this hardware and without it any form of audio/music cannot be heard from the computer.
